From watching the Blue Angels soar over Pensacola as a child to advising aircraft owners across international markets, Max Oberbroeckling has built a career fueled by both passion and precision. Today, as Sales Director at jetAVIVA, Max specializes in the Citation CJ, CJ1 and CJ2 series, helping clients navigate aircraft acquisitions and sales with a strategic, client-first approach.

Max joined jetAVIVA in 2017 after discovering business aviation while attending Kansas State University. Drawn to the company’s culture and work ethic, he quickly found himself immersed in an industry that combined his love of aviation with his business background.

“The people and culture at jetAVIVA are truly magnetic,” Max says. “It’s a small, fun group that really outworks any team I’ve ever been a part of.”

Before becoming a Sales Director, Max spent several years in Sales Operations, developing the foundation that continues to shape his success today. “You want to spend your time having meaningful conversations with clients,” he explains. “That knowledge doesn’t come overnight, and you can’t learn it in any textbook.” Max believes those foundational years are critical, adding that “without them, it makes it really difficult to find success in your first year or two as a Sales Director.”

During his early years in aircraft sales, Max also developed extensive experience in the Beechcraft King Air market, one of business aviation’s most respected owner-flown platforms. That background continues to shape the way he advises clients today, particularly those transitioning from turboprops into their first jet.

Now focused on the Citation CJ, CJ1, CJ1+, CJ2, and CJ2+ markets, Max believes the Citation 525 series continues to stand apart because of its simplicity, efficiency, and reliability. “These airplanes are sensible, economic, owner-centric platforms that build confidence for the operator,” he says. “My favorite part is watching owners progress and upgrade as the jet grows their business.”

Known for his tactical and transparent approach, Max views every transaction as a fiduciary responsibility. Whether advising a first-time buyer or managing a complex international deal, his priority remains protecting the client’s interests while delivering informed guidance in fast-moving markets.

“The mistakes are expensive,” Max says of first aircraft purchases. “Hiring the right broker who studies that market is the difference between thinking you’re getting a good deal and knowing it.”

While aviation remains central to his life, Max also values time spent with family, riding motorcycles, traveling, and exploring history and culture around the world. He is currently working toward his Private Pilot License, an experience that has deepened his understanding of owner-pilot operations and strengthened the way he advises clients.

Looking ahead, Max is excited about the future of aviation, particularly as younger buyers enter the market and new technologies continue to reshape the industry. At the same time, he remains focused on continuing to build his brand both personally and professionally while becoming more involved with organizations like IADA and NBAA. “It’s always important to keep expanding your network,” he says.

“We’re in a really exciting time for aviation,” he says. “I feel fortunate that I get to wake up every day and work with such amazing people at jetAVIVA and throughout the industry.” For Max, success in aviation ultimately comes down to trust, relationships, and helping clients unlock new opportunities through aircraft ownership.
