Phenom 300EV: A New Chapter for Embraer’s Light Jet Leader
Embraer has introduced the Phenom 300EV, marking a significant evolution for a light jet platform that has spent 14 consecutive years at the top of its category. Rather than replacing the Phenom 300 formula, Embraer has expanded it with a new generation of automation, safety, performance, connectivity, and cabin enhancements.
The most significant addition is Garmin Emergency Autoland, bringing one of the industry’s most advanced safety features to the Phenom 300 family. The system is complemented by autothrottle, autobrake, rudder-by-wire, and expanded runway and taxiway awareness. The EV also adds synthetic vision, improved navigation capabilities, and new lithium-ion batteries, while range increases to 2,055 nautical miles and maximum zero-fuel weight increases by 430 pounds. Together, these changes represent a substantial evolution of the proven Phenom 300 platform while preserving the characteristics that have made it successful.
The vacuum lavatory is another particularly notable change, representing a structural modification rather than simply an equipment upgrade. This addition further distinguishes the EV from earlier Phenom 300 variants and demonstrates the extent to which Embraer has evolved the aircraft beyond avionics and software enhancements.
The EV is priced from $13.995M before additional equipment and options, providing a clear reference point for the next generation of the Phenom 300 family.
The transition also creates an important moment for the Phenom 300E. Embraer plans to produce the final 300E in December 2027, while EV deliveries are expected to begin in 2028. Current 300E position holders have also been given the opportunity to convert to the EV, potentially further limiting the number of new-build 300Es that reach the market.
For the pre-owned market, this could create a more noticeable separation between the generations. We believe the arrival of the EV could place pressure on 300E values over time as buyers begin placing a premium on its newer technology and capabilities. At the same time, today’s exceptionally tight 300E inventory may limit any immediate impact.
As EVs eventually enter service and owners begin upgrading, additional 300Es could return to the market, giving buyers more choices and creating clearer distinctions between the 300, 300E, and 300EV. For buyers, that could create a broader range of options across technology, age, configuration, and price. For sellers, the increasing distinction between generations will make aircraft condition, equipment, maintenance history, and positioning even more important. The Phenom 300EV may ultimately establish a new high end for the family, while the earlier generations continue to compete on availability, configuration, and value.
