Jim Lewis has built an impressive career in the aviation industry, bringing with him 48 years of experience—24 years in flight operations and 24 years in aircraft sales, marketing, and business development. His flying background includes roles as a freight/charter/sales pilot, regional airline captain, and chief pilot/department manager, as well as serving as a senior sales demonstration pilot for two prominent OEMs. With a background that spans aircraft sales, acquisitions, and operations, Jim has developed a keen eye for matching clients with the perfect aircraft to meet their needs. His industry knowledge and strategic insights help guide our clients through every step of their aviation journey, ensuring they make informed decisions with confidence.

At jetAVIVA, we prioritize delivering an exceptional client experience, and Jim embodies that philosophy in every interaction. In the aircraft brokerage, consulting, sales, and marketing sectors, Jim has held director, senior managing director, and vice president positions, achieving early success with Gulfstream and Embraer. For the past eight years, he has focused on business development within the large cabin broker/dealer network, cultivating new accounts while leveraging his expertise in aerospace technical aspects and aircraft operations. Whether assisting first-time buyers or seasoned aircraft owners, Jim provides personalized service that reflects jetAVIVA’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and passion for aviation.

Jim is actively involved in organizations like NCBAA, PNBAA, and the Oregon Pilots Association, serving as a committee and board member. He often shares his knowledge as an industry presenter, speaker, and mentor. As an aircraft owner and an Airline Transport Pilot, Jim holds eight type ratings and has accumulated 11,000 hours of flight time. He volunteers for Veteran’s Airlift Command, Challenge Air, and the Oregon Disaster Airlift Response Team. Outside of his work at jetAVIVA, Jim and Lisa split their time between Portland and Park City, where they enjoy flying, cooking, traveling, and playing golf.
