Citation 525 operators recently received exciting news from Textron Aviation. The company has rolled out ProParts+ for the 525 series, giving owners another option in the ProAdvantage lineup.

If you’re flying one of these jets, you probably already know the value of ProParts. It has been a go-to program for years because it takes some of the mystery out of maintenance costs and makes it easier to plan ahead. ProParts+ builds on that idea with expanded coverage in areas that matter most to this fleet, especially as the aircraft mature.

When it comes to aircraft maintenance, landing gear is often at the center of the conversation. Any operator who has been through a major gear repair or replacement knows how expensive those parts can be. Trunnions, trailing links and oleo struts are major pieces of hardware that can generate serious invoices when they need attention. ProParts+ is designed to take more of that burden off the table, which could be a major relief for owners of 20- or 30-year-old airplanes.

The timing feels right for this exciting news, as the 525 fleet is entering a stage where costs can become less predictable. The CJ line has been around since the early 1990s, and while the fleet has aged gracefully, time catches up with every airplane. As cycles add up, the chances of hitting an expensive gear issue or other big-ticket replacement naturally go up. ProParts+ seems to recognize that reality and offer owners a way to smooth it out.

Beyond landing gear, the program also reaches into other areas that simplify day-to-day ownership.  There’s added coverage for consumables such as corrosion-inhibiting compounds and fuel test kits, and help with freight costs on covered parts. Textron even added a buyout option if you sell the aircraft before the contract is up. Details like these make ownership more predictable and less stressful.

At the end of the day, programs are all about planning and peace of mind. Nobody wants to be surprised by a six-figure maintenance bill, especially on an airplane they depend on for business or personal travel. By expanding ProParts to cover more of the items that typically cause problems, Textron is giving 525 operators another layer of protection and another reason to feel confident about keeping their airplane in the air for years to come.
