At jetAVIVA, we believe that the future of aviation lies in empowering today’s emerging leaders—and this month, our very own Raphael Valor exemplified that mission with passion and purpose. Selected as one of just 30 young professionals nationwide, Raphael had the distinct honor of representing business aviation on Capitol Hill during the 2025 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) YoPro Washington, D.C. Fly-In.

Raphael’s journey to this pivotal moment is as inspiring as it is global. Raised in a small town deep in the Venezuelan Amazon, his love of aviation began in the cockpit of a Cessna with his father, flying above rainforests and coastlines. Now, years later, Raphael stood on the steps of Congress, advocating for the very industry that first sparked his dreams.

“It’s hard to put into words what this means to me,” he shared. “To go from flying over the jungle to walking the halls of Capitol Hill on behalf of aviation—it’s the full circle of passion meeting purpose.”

Throughout the Fly-In, Raphael and his fellow YoPro delegates engaged directly with Members of Congress and their staff, advocating for key issues affecting the business aviation sector. From sustainability to economic impact, job creation to community connectivity, the conversations underscored just how vital this industry is to the U.S. economy and way of life.

One memorable highlight: Raphael’s meeting with Rep. Mike Haridopolos of Florida, who represents the district that includes jetAVIVA’s headquarters in Melbourne. It was a powerful moment to discuss how business aviation supports local jobs, drives economic growth, and connects communities—especially in Florida.

In addition to the Fly-In, Raphael took part in a week of rich learning and networking, from working out of NBAA headquarters to attending the Aero Club of Washington’s June Luncheon. The week wasn’t just about policy—it was about progress, passion, and most importantly, people.

“Spending time with fellow YoPro leaders and passionate industry professionals reminded me why I love this industry so much,” Raphael reflected. “It was an unforgettable few days of learning, leading, and listening.”

Raphael’s participation in the Fly-In represents more than just a personal milestone—it reflects jetAVIVA’s ongoing commitment to shaping the future of business aviation. We’re proud to support initiatives that amplify young voices, foster leadership, and advance the policies that keep our industry thriving.

As Raphael put it best: “Let’s keep pushing boundaries and elevating the conversation around our industry.”
