Citation M2 Program Update

Citation M2 Program Update

Date

April 16, 2014

With the second quarter of the year now underway, we wanted to take time to report the latest news with the Citation M2 program since first deliveries began late last year. The M2 is a highly upgraded version of the refined Model 525 with a Garmin G3000 cockpit, upgraded interior, winglets, and increased thrust, marking the M2 an incremental, yet distinguished upgrade from its predecessor, the CJ1+.

jetAVIVA has taken delivery of five M2s thus far, delivered on behalf of our Clients, and the experience has been one to write about—in a very good way. Our very own Cyrus Sigari authored an article covering his experience with the M2 thus far, including on the ground and in the air. The article was featured in AOPA Pilot, Turbine Edition, and we invite you to read the article online here. Mr. Sigari was accompanied on the acceptances by jetAVIVA’s Director of Technical Services, Derrick Schmidt, who is a 20-year veteran of Citation aircraft, having previously worked for Cessna as their Senior Production Test pilot. Mr. Schmidt will be leading jetAVIVA and our clients in the acceptance of several additional M2s through 2014 and into 2015.

As of this writing, Cessna has delivered an estimated 20+ M2s to retail customers, and we anticipate the Wichita-based manufacturer could potentially deliver upwards of 40 of these new jets in 2014 alone. There has been little position trading as of yet for the $4.5M Citation, but we believe this will change in the coming months as more potential M2 owners want to move to the front of the line.

We look forward to reporting more later this year as more and more M2s fill the skies. Look for one on a ramp near you!
